Threat actors are exploiting three recently disclosed Windows security vulnerabilities in attacks aimed at gaining SYSTEM or elevated administrator permissions. Since the start of the month, a security researcher known as “Chaotic Eclipse” or “Nightmare-Eclipse” has published proof-of-concept exploit code for all three security issues in protest to how Microsoft’s Security Response Center (MSRC) handled the disclosure process. Two of the vulnerabilities (dubbed BlueHammer and RedSun) are Microsoft Defender local privilege escalation (LPE) flaws, while the third (known as UnDefend) can be exploited as a standard user to block Microsoft Defender definition updates. At the time of the leak, the…

There are so many streaming platforms out there, each with their own shows to watch. Whether it’s an HBO subscription or maybe a Netflix subscription, every site seems to have something new. But today, I’m not going to talk about new live-action films or television. No, I’m going to talk about anime, one of my favorite genres. There are so many different kinds of anime out there, which might be overwhelming to figure out where to start. Do you want something lighthearted? Something extremely dark and serious? How about a comedy? Well, look no further, because here are five classic…

By now, you probably know that batteries are consumable components that degrade over time. Even if a battery is rechargeable, it will eventually lose capacity and stop working with enough normal usage. For consumer electronics, that’s a problem. If a battery-powered device isn’t designed with repair and replacement in mind, it’s destined to end up in a recycling center (or worse, a landfill) sooner rather than later. While phones, tablets, and laptops are engineered to make battery replacements possible, wireless earbuds have historically been a repair disaster. Your favorite wireless earbuds are built using soldered connections, water-resistant seals, and tons…

Google shipped Android 17 Beta 4 on April 16, marking the last scheduled beta in the Android 17 release cycle. The build targets app compatibility testing and platform stability ahead of the final release, and it carries several behavior changes that developers need to account for before the stable version ships. Supported Pixel devices can enroll in the Android Beta program to receive the update over the air. Developers without a Pixel device can use the 64-bit system images with the Android Emulator in Android Studio. Google recommends using the latest preview of Android Studio Panda for the best development…

The solution to a Grindr ban can be straightforward — it depends on the type of ban you received. Some can be lifted quickly with an appeal, while others may require extra steps like changing your account details or device. The platform is very serious about protecting users of the app, given that the LGBTQ+ community is 50% more likely to be targeted for cyberbullying¹. How do you fix a Grindr ban? Appealing the ban should be your first step, since many suspensions happen by mistake or for minor violations. If that doesn’t work, there are other methods you can…

Motorola has been on a roll with its Razr series, which has helped the company achieve impressive foldable market share, both globally and in the United States. I’ve been using the Razr Ultra 2025 since it launched, and despite reviewing plenty of phones since then, I continue to come back to the Razr, and it seems I’m not the only one who has taken a liking to Motorola’s flagship.Last year’s Razr series launched around April 2025, so we expect the Razr 2026 series to arrive around the same time. We haven’t heard anything official from Motorola, but if it’s following…

23-year-old Kamerin Stokes of Memphis, Tennessee, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for selling access to tens of thousands of hacked DraftKings accounts. According to court documents, the accounts were hijacked by Nathan Austad (aka Snoopy) with the help of Joseph Garrison (a third accomplice charged in May 2023) in a massive November 2022 credential-stuffing attack that compromised nearly 68,000 DraftKings accounts. U.S. prosecutors said Austad and Garrison used a list of credentials stolen in multiple breaches to hack into DraftKings accounts, then sold access to others who stole around $635,000 from roughly 1,600 compromised accounts. While they made over $2.1 million selling some of these hijacked DraftKings accounts (as well as FanDuel…

Researchers at Darktrace have discovered a new malware strain named ZionSiphon, which appears to target water treatment and desalination plants in Israel.  ZionSiphon has many capabilities typically seen in commodity malware, but it caught analysts’ attention due to functionality aimed at operational technology (OT), specifically industrial control systems (ICS). Strings in the analyzed malware sample indicate that ZionSiphon has been developed by anti-Israel hackers, and one encoded string decodes to “Poisoning the population of Tel Aviv and Haifa”. There are several other indicators that Israel is the malware’s main target, including strings naming water facilities in the country. In addition,…

Summary Fedora 44 delayed to Apr 28 after two postponements due to persistent blocker bugs. Four confirmed blocker bugs (installer, keyboard layout, btrfs) must be fixed before release. More proposed blockers (ThinkPad X1 black screen, slow Wi‑Fi) could trigger further delays. Fedora was the Linux distro that got me off Windows, and one of its main fortes, in my opinion, is its stability. I’ve very rarely had issues with using the OS, and anything that I have encountered was both easy to remedy and fixed pretty rapidly. So, as you might expect, if a new release of Fedora has a…
