Hiring a digital marketer is no longer about finding someone who knows a few platforms well. Most candidates can talk through Google Ads, social media, or analytics tools at a surface level. That is table stakes now. What separates a strong hire from a risky one is how they think when performance shifts, privacy rules change, or the data does not point to an obvious answer. Marketing leaders today need people who can connect tactics to business outcomes, explain tradeoffs clearly, and adapt without panicking when the playbook changes. That is hard to uncover with generic interview questions. The goal…

Stephen Headrick / Android AuthorityI think I did it. I think I finally found a system that works for my brain. A system that brings my work and personal lives together under one roof and allows me to stay organized across tasks, documents, and projects — and it’s finally available on Android. This is, after all, the holy grail of productivity apps, right?Productivity apps are a dime a dozen these days, and I’ve tried way too many in search of something that works for me. But after consistently using it for a while now, I feel confident saying that the…

They actually did it. OpenAI officially deprecated GPT-4o on Friday, despite the model’s particularly passionate fan base. This news shouldn’t have been such a surprise. In fact, the company announced that Feb. 13 would mark the end of GPT-4o—as well as models like GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini, and o4-mini—just over two weeks ago. However, whether you’re one of the many who are attached to this model, or you simply know how dedicated 4o’s user base is, you might be surprised OpenAI actually killed its most agreeable AI. This isn’t the first time the company depreciated the model, either. OpenAI previously shut…

CISA ordered U.S. government agencies on Thursday to secure their systems against a critical Microsoft Configuration Manager vulnerability patched in October 2024 and now exploited in attacks. Microsoft Configuration Manager (also known as ConfigMgr and formerly System Center Configuration Manager, or SCCM) is an IT administration tool for managing large groups of Windows servers and workstations. Tracked as CVE-2024-43468 and reported by offensive security company Synacktiv, this SQL injection vulnerability allows remote attackers with no privileges to gain code execution and run arbitrary commands with the highest level of privileges on the server and/or the underlying Microsoft Configuration Manager site…

We’re in a new era where web content visibility is fragmenting across a wide range of search and social platforms. While still a dominant force, Google is no longer the default search experience. Video-based social media platforms like TikTok and community-based sites like Reddit are becoming popular search engines with dedicated audiences.  This trend is impacting how news content is consumed. Google’s current news SERP evolution is directly influenced by the personalization of query responses offered by LLMs and the rise in influencer authority enabled by social media platforms.  Google has responded by creating its own AI-powered SERP features, such…

Thread is the hot new low-power mesh network in the smart home world, with IKEA recently adopting it for a new range of Matter devices. But even though Thread is the future, Zigbee still gets my personal pick for the present. Let me explain. Zigbee devices are cheap Credit: Adam Davidson / How-To Geek Zigbee devices are almost always the cheapest mesh network smart home accessories you can buy. Much of that is down to the fact that the technology has been around for so long. Zigbee really started to pick up speed in the early 2010s and remains arguably the…

Fetcher bots, which retrieve content in real time when users make queries to AI assistants, show different concentration patterns. OpenAI’s ChatGPT and related bots generated 68% of fetcher bot requests. In some cases, fetcher bot request volumes exceeded 39,000 requests per minute to individual sites. AI agents check multiple websites when processing queries, generating higher traffic volumes per interaction than browser-based users. That traffic runs through Fastly’s network for customers using the platform for content delivery. Beyond traffic volume, Fastly is seeing AI workloads running directly on its edge compute platform. Compton cited examples including storage of large training datasets…

The US cybersecurity agency CISA on Thursday warned that recently disclosed SolarWinds, Notepad++, and Apple vulnerabilities have been exploited in the wild. Tracked as CVE-2025-40536 (CVSS score of 8.1) and disclosed at the end of January, the SolarWinds flaw is described as a security control bypass in Web Help Desk (WHD) that could allow unauthenticated attackers to access restricted functionality. The security defect was found and reported by Horizon3.ai, which warned that it could be exploited to create a valid AjaxProxy instance, allowing attackers to exploit additional bugs to achieve remote code execution (RCE). On Thursday, CISA added CVE-2025-40536 to…

Tablets are a genuinely great piece of hardware to have in the home. While some folks may scoff at the thought of using something that’s basically just an enlarged phone without calling capabilities, they’re great for a plethora of different things. Watching your favorite shows or movies, playing games, and even using them for video calls is a great thing. But a budget tablet can sometimes cause more headaches than it’s worth. I’ve been using a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ since 2024 at this point, and recently, it’s started to get on the slower side. The tablet still has a…
