It’s not the first time, nor will it be the last time that some Google product has an issue. We’ve covered a range of problems that have popped up on Android and other Google services over the past year alone, with the most recent being the connectivity issue affecting Android Auto users.

First, it was Samsung Galaxy S26 owners, then Pixel owners started chiming in. It was very clear that something was wrong with Android Auto. Users weren’t able to connect consistently and seamlessly, requiring them to unlock their phones in order to establish a connection. As you can imagine, it’s not something you want to worry about when you’re on the road.

And while we’ve yet to hear what’s causing this issue, folks think that it has something to do with Android’s Advanced Protection feature. Luckily, it looks like the connectivity problem might become a thing of the past because Google has now started rolling out an update that will take care of the issue.

    Get the fix ASAP

Android Authority reports that a new update for Android Auto is now rolling out. Although Google hasn’t issued any kind of press statement or response on its help pages regarding this issue, the information comes straight from Google in the form of an email that was sent directly to the news outlet.

So, if you’ve personally experienced this issue, you’ll want to go ahead and update your phone with the latest version of Android Auto. If you’re not seeing anything, you might need to be patient. With that said, the information available about this update is pretty scarce, with Google not sharing much more about what happened and how it was fixed.

We don’t expect to hear anything more from the brand so long as everything is set back to how it used to be. When it comes to affected devices, we’ve seen reports including, but not limited to, the Pixel 10, Pixel 8, Pixel 9, and Pixel 7 series phones. In addition, Galaxy S26 devices were also affected as well. So, as you can imagine, there should be a wide range of people with this problem at the moment.

Let us know in the comments if you’ve had this issue and if you’ve received any updates that fix it.
