“What’s now made it an achievable goal is the maturity of AI combined with the availability of full-fidelity, cross-domain operational data,” said Richard Tworek, Chief Technology Officer at Riverbed, in an interview with Network World. “The shift Riverbed is driving is towards prevention-first operations, where our new agentic AI framework is used not just to surface insights, but to identify and remediate issues before disruption occurs.”
The Aternity Experience Platform integrates Riverbed’s application performance management (APM) and network performance management (NPM) with a unified agent and data foundation, according to Riverbed. The company updated several modules across its Aternity platform to help organizations “reduce disruption and accelerate resolution:
- Riverbed IQ 4.0 introduces the company’s agentic framework capable of taking authorized remediation actions across devices, applications, and networks. The platform includes governance controls that allow enterprises to define what actions AI agents can take and where human oversight is required.
- Riverbed Q adds a conversational AI interface that integrates with collaboration and operational tools to accelerate investigations and automate workflows.
- AI Assurance is a new observability and governance tool designed to monitor enterprise AI adoption, shadow AI activity, operational costs, and agent behavior. Riverbed said the capability is intended to give enterprises visibility into how AI systems behave alongside existing application and network operations.
- Aternity Replay 2.0 expands session replay capabilities from individual endpoints to “fleet-wide visibility” across enterprise applications, allowing IT teams to troubleshoot employee issues without requiring users to reproduce problems.
- High Fidelity Analytics captures telemetry at one-second intervals across devices, applications, and networks to help IT teams diagnose intermittent performance issues.
- Data Express adds SaaS-based high-speed data movement between AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle OCI, and enterprise data centers to support AI operations and analytics workloads.
- APM+ extends Riverbed’s APM technology to help desk and IT operations workflows by correlating application behavior with employee experience data.
Early adopters report that Riverbed’s enhancements help them identify and resolve incidents faster.
“The Riverbed Platform has transformed how we monitor our environment, providing full fidelity visibility and unified observability across networks, applications, and end user experience,” said Douglas Horner, Senior Vice President of IM Operations at Global Credit Union, in a statement. “Building on that foundation, we have developed our AI-driven operations capability to proactively diagnose issues faster, optimize performance at scale, and deliver secure, high-quality digital experiences for our members. We are especially aligned with Riverbed’s Zero Disruption vision, advancing a prevention-first approach that stops issues before they impact colleagues, operations, or user experience.”
