EFF Executive Director Cindy Cohn will be on The Daily Show tonight, Monday March 30, at 11 pm ET and PT, speaking with host Jon Stewart. Cindy will discuss her long history of fighting for privacy online and her new book, Privacy’s Defender: My Thirty-Year Fight Against Digital Surveillance (MIT Press). On the WordStream and LocaliQ social accounts, the posts that tend to perform the best (and I’m talking 10X engagement! Tons of shares!) are ones that either feature our employees or that we share from our employees. And that’s not unique to our business. That’s the beauty of employee-generated content (EGC). When people working for your business share their own experiences, it lands differently. And it turns them into advocates and marketers (whether they realize they’re marketing or not). I’m going to share why EGC is so powerful, some real-world examples to highlight how well it works, and show you…

RSAC 2026 Conference marked a return to form, more vibrant and better attended than any show I can recall over the past decade. The audience was distinctly international, with strong representation from North America, Europe and Latin America, and it was refreshing to see the energy and overall vibe of the show return to what I remember from RSA at its peak. As expected, hot topics centered on how AI is transforming cybersecurity, alongside growing interest in quantum computing and what the industry’s eventual shift to quantum resistant algorithms will mean in practice. These themes were omnipresent across keynotes, analyst…
Google removed a Search Engine Land article (Report: Clickout Media turned news sites into AI gambling hubs, published March 26) from its search results after a copyright complaint (that appears, to us, to be entirely false). Meanwhile, a similar DMCA filing led to the takedown of the original Press Gazette investigation. What happened. A DMCA notice filed March 27 claimed Search Engine Land copied content “word for word” and used proprietary images. The complaint led Google to begin removing the article from search results globally. The notice identified the complainant as “US Webspam,” with no clear public attribution. The context.…

Measuring brand awareness might seem abstract, but it’s fairly straightforward if you know which signals to look for and where to find them. This guide covers nine ways to gauge whether people are actually discovering, recognizing, and remembering your brand — including through AI platforms. What is brand awareness?Brand awareness is how well consumers recognize and remember your brand and its products or services. It takes into account brand recognition, recall, and market dominance.Think of it this way: If consumers can easily mention a brand by viewing its logo or by being asked to mention top companies in a particular category, that…
No matter how cheap your filament may be, that’s no excuse to waste any of it when you don’t have to. 3D printers are machines with infinite tunability and many different ways to print a skinless cat. So it stands to reason that some practices are more wasteful than others. Using 100% infill when you don’t need it Less really is more If you’re new to the whole 3D printing thing, you might be tempted to crank the infill all the way up and print solid models. The logic here is that if your model isn’t mostly filled with air,…
Apple has introduced a security feature in macOS Tahoe 26.4 that blocks pasting and executing potentially harmful commands in Terminal and alerts users to possible risks. The new mechanism appears to be aimed primarily at blocking ClickFix attacks and has been reported by macOS users since the release candidate version of the operating system. Apple didn’t specifically mention it in macOS Tahoe 26.4 release notes. ClickFix is a social engineering technique that tricks users into pasting malicious commands into the command line interface under the pretense of fixing a problem or a verification process. Since it is the user who pastes the command, existing…
