Having an extra set of eyes monitoring your home never hurts, which is why video doorbells and security cameras are becoming more popular, especially since they’re affordable and easy to set up. We’ve reviewed a few options from Ring over the past few years and found most of them to be pretty good.

With that said, we’re now seeing the Ring Video Doorbell come in at a price of just $14, which makes it the perfect time to pick one up. This promotion comes from Woot, and to be warned, it is for a refurbished model. However, the discount is so good we don’t think you’ll mind. Just be sure to use code “SECURITY30” during checkout in order to save an extra 30% off the usual price.

It makes life easier, until it doesn’t. Here’s what no one tells you

What’s great about the Ring Video Doorbell?

This model on sale delivers crisp image quality with its 1080p sensor and features two-way communication, along with night vision. You get motion detection, along with real-time alerts that come straight to any connected device.

Now this model isn’t wireless, so you will need to install it. For most people, that’s just going to require you to remove your current doorbell and plug in this new device using the existing wiring. Sometimes there are some additional steps, but for most people it should be that straightforward.

Again, this is a refurbished model from Woot, but it does come with a 90-day warranty. For the most part, it’s a great option for anyone that wants to give video doorbells a try. At this price, it’s really a no-brainer. The $14 price tag is well worth it. Just be sure to use the code “SECURITY30” to save.
