Ever since Valve stopped production of the Steam Deck LCD version, it has been harder to recommend portable gaming systems to people. While the cheap LCD Steam Deck was a shoo-in for newcomers to pick up, its cancellation means we have to turn to other devices like the Switch 2.

Well, if you’re in the market for a handheld gaming PC, but you’re not sure if you’ll enjoy it or not, now’s the perfect time to grab Microsoft’s official entry into the portable console market. The Asus ROG Xbox Ally is now $110 off on Amazon, and while it may not be the powerhouse some people want, it’s definitely an excellent entry-level model.

Why you should pick up the Asus ROG Xbox Ally on Amazon

$110 off is a generous discount for this console

The Asus ROG Xbox Ally is Microsoft’s first-ever foray into portable devices. Instead of going at it alone, Microsoft teamed up with Asus and used its handheld PC expertise to help get Team Green into the market. It has an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 512GB SSD space for all your games. Plus, it comes with three months of Xbox Game Pass Premium so you can get gaming from the word go.

We gave the Asus ROG Xbox Ally a respectable 7/10 in our review, noting that, while it’s not as mighty as the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X, it’s still a decent pick-up for people who want to give gaming on the go a try:

The Asus ROG Xbox Ally is a great transition devices for those looking to start dipping their toes into the PC gaming space, since the streamlined Xbox Fullscreen Experience works best with the Xbox and GamePass libraries, rather than outside launchers. It can be a great secondary console to break up arguments between families.

Right now, the Asus ROG Xbox Ally is $110 off on Amazon, dropping its price tag from $599 to $489. This makes it cheaper than Valve’s Steam Deck OLED models, so give it a look if you want to try portable gaming and save some cash at the same time.
