Smartphones are expensive enough, so I’m all for buyers picking up devices that get the job done for significantly less than flagship or even midrange phones. The Moto G 2026 falls into that category, giving you decent performance for under $200. With a carrier deal, you can save even more, and that’s precisely what T-Mobile is currently offering.

With a qualifying plan of $35 or more, you can get a Moto G for no additional monthly payment. You’ll have to stick with T-Mobile for 24 months to get all the bill credits, but if you don’t switch often, it’s a way to save money on a capable smartphone.

    Why I like the Moto G 2026

Snappy performance and a headphone jack

The Moto G has several limitations, but I prefer its performance to similar budget devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy A17. It feels snappier in testing, thanks to its Dimensity 6300 chipset. It’s still not a gaming or multitasking powerhouse, but you’ll be able to complete daily tasks easily.

Its 6.7-inch display is an LCD, but it’s vibrant. When you think of LCD screens on smartphones, it’s easy to imagine a dull and drab panel, but that’s not the case with the Moto G. The phone also keeps some fan-favorite legacy features like a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card slot for expandable storage.

You get two significant upgrades by choosing the Moto G over the less expensive Moto G Play 2026. The Moto G includes 128GB of base storage and a 50MP primary camera sensor. I’ve tested both phones, and you’ll absolutely notice the better main camera. Details are sharper, and you get an improved image in good lighting.

Moto’s software is unoffensive, and the Moto G runs Android 16 out of the box. All your favorite Moto gestures are on the device.

The battery life is also outstanding thanks to the phone’s 5,200mAh cell. I can easily get into a third day of use on a single charge. All told, this T-Mobile deal is an excellent opportunity to pick up a capable phone for less.
