We’ve seen the price of SSD storage go up and up over the past several months, rising to levels that many are not comfortable paying. It’s a sad reality that looks like it will continue for some time, with no real return to normal expected any time soon. That’s why it’s important when deals on storage pop up, making it a prime time to buy if you’ve been looking to pick some up.

The Samsung T5 Evo is a portable SSD that we’ve highlighted before, offering tons of storage at an affordable price. Luckily, that still seems to be the case when you can find it on sale. Right now, you can pick up the 4TB model from Walmart for just $299. This isn’t the cheapest that we’ve seen this drive, but it’s one of the better discounts over the past several months.

This drive has everything you need, featuring a compact size that’s also reliable and durable. You also get decent data transfer speeds, with the drive maxing out at 460MB/s. This isn’t the fastest SSD drive out there, but what you sacrifice for speed, you get back in storage space, with this particular drive coming in with 4TB.

As far as other features, the T5 Evo comes with AES-256 hardware encryption, and a built-in key ring to make it easy to keep track of. For the most part, there’s not really much to complain about here. You’re getting a lot of storage, and the cost isn’t overly expensive. You can use it to store things on the fly, or just use it to back up all your existing data.

The choice is yours. Just be sure to be quick if you want to grab it at this price. While the Walmart deal is good, we don’t think it will be around for long.
