It’s not uncommon to see special edition colors or models released for a phone, but we certainly weren’t expecting Google to release a new color variant for the Pixel 10a that would only be available to those in Japan. While those in the US and other regions have had plenty of time with the Pixel 10a, Japan is just now starting its retail push for the phone.

Something new, and it looks fantastic

Starting today, preorders will be open for the phone, with the Pixel 10a landing to retail on April 14. While the standard colors, like Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian, will be available as early as next week, the Isai Blue model, which is exclusive to Japan, will be available quite a bit later, set to release on May 20.

Not only does it feature a unique color, but it will also come bundled in a unique box, along with stickers and a bumper case. It will also have a new wallpaper and theme pack too. As far as the rest of the phone goes, it’s the same old Pixel 10a, featuring a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen and Google Tensor G4 with 8GB of RAM.

I’ve spent some time with the Pixel 10a and it’s a pretty good phone. Of course, I wasn’t an owner of the Pixel 9a, so I can’t really say much on that front, but our phone experts also think it’s a pretty good device for what it is. There might not be many upgrades from last year, but it’s still a very solid choice.

So, if you’re thinking about picking one up, you certainly can from pretty much any electronics retailer and most wireless carriers. You’ll just have to settle for one of the standard colors.

The Google Pixel 10a features a Tensor G4 chipset and 8GB of RAM. It includes a 6.3-inch Actua panel and a 1080p resolution. The phone packs a 5,100mAh battery and a 48MP primary camera sensor, with a 13MP ultrawide lens. It ships with Android 16, and Google promises 7 years of software updates.
