Joe Maring / Android AuthorityIt’s been just about a week since Google launched Android 17 Beta 1, and as you’ve probably heard by now, it’s not a particularly big update. While we expect more new features in later beta versions, Beta 1 is pretty light on user-facing changes. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything cool in this first beta release.I’ve been testing Android 17 Beta 1 on one of my Pixels, and there are already two features I desperately miss whenever I go back to a phone running Android 16. What’s your favorite thing about Android 17 Beta 1?0 votesBeing…

Written by Ivan Milenkovic, Vice President Risk Technology EMEA, Qualys For the better part of the last decade,we have engaged in a comfortable fiction around security and development. If we could only “shift left” and get developers to take a modicum more responsibility for security alongside their coding, testing and infrastructure deployment, the digital world would become a safer, faster and cheaper place. Instead, the fundamental conflict between speed and security has got worse. Why did this fail? Developers are under crushing pressure. The classic triangle of project management – Fast, Good, Cheap; pick two – has been smashed to…
We may earn a commission from links on this page. The scarcity of RAM brought on by the artificial intelligence boom, dubbed RAMageddon, is affecting more than just the price of PCs. AI could make new televisions more expensive too—as well as—game consoles, cell phones, high-tech coffee makers, and anything else with memory and a processor. But if you’re in the market for a new TV, you might be better off buying sooner rather than later. As Axios reports, televisions generally require 1GB to 8GB of RAM to run “smart TV” features and to process video and data, and the memory…
Japanese chip testing giant Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857) has been targeted in a ransomware attack. Advantest makes automatic test equipment for the semiconductor industry. It serves major chipmakers such as Intel, Samsung, and TSMC. In a statement published on its website on Thursday, Advantest said it detected an IT network intrusion on February 15 and immediately activated incident response protocols. It’s unclear if the attackers…
Luxury sedans are often synonymous with high ownership costs, especially when it comes to maintenance and repairs. But one Italian-built four-door upends that stereotype in 2025 by delivering premium refinement and surprisingly sensible upkeep compared with many rivals. While its competitors can come with hefty service bills and expensive parts, this luxury sedan’s maintenance profile keeps long-term costs more manageable, a rare combination in a segment known for costly ownership. Part of what makes this model stand out is how its engineering and service network help mitigate common luxury-car cost pitfalls. Owners report fewer major issues than many European rivals,…
On episode 352 of PPC Live The Podcast, I spoke to Emina Demiri Watson, Head of Digital at Brighton-based Vixen Digital, where she to shared one of the most candid stories in agency life: deliberately firing a client that accounted for roughly 70% of their revenue — and what they learned the hard way in the process. The decision to let go The client relationship had been deteriorating for around three months before the leadership team made their move. The decision wasn’t about the client being difficult from day one — it was a relationship that had slowly soured over time.…
As time goes on, the quality of 4K screens and TV displays has been getting so much better. While some may argue that plasma screens were where things peaked, we’ve only got room to expand from those heavy, heat-producing displays of yesteryear. Even back in the day, Samsung was a pioneer in creating a great display, and they’ve kept that quality high since flat screens were unleashed on the world. But, there’s a chance that you may not know that your Samsung device has a hidden service menu that unlocks even more customization for your picture and device. PWM, calibrating…

Google prevented more than 1.75 million policy-violating apps from being published on Google Play and banned over 80,000 developer accounts that attempted to publish harmful apps in 2025.
