WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg responded to Cloudflare’s announcement of EmDash as the spiritual successor to WordPress by invoking Will Smith’s Oscars slap. Cloudflare’s CEO responded by doing exactly what Mullenweg told him not to do. Spiritual Successor To WordPress Mullenweg’s first criticism of the new EmDash was the claim that it was the spiritual successor to WordPress. He made the point that WordPress can be installed and used on virtually any device and on any platform, saying that this was a part of their mission to democratize publishing by making it easy to deploy on almost any kind of infrastructure.…

We may earn a commission from links on this page. This morning, upstart smart glasses company Even Realities launched Even Hub, an open app store and developer platform for its G2 line of display style smart glasses. This could be the first salvo in a war between open- and closed-platform display smart glasses. On one side is Meta. The Goliath of the smart glasses market has thus far taken a completely closed approached to its newish Display glasses: Meta decides what your smart glasses can do and determines what apps you can access. The David to Meta’s Goliath is Even…
From 1978 to 1987, Subaru sold a fun little pickup truck that was quirky right down to its name, BRAT. And while the name may conjure up images of Bart Simpson or Dennis the Menace, it was just an acronym for Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter. Subaru marketed it as a “Fun in the Sun” vehicle with “On-Demand” 4WD and a pair of rear-facing jump seats in the bed. If you think a pair of seats in the bed is strange, wait until you pop the hood and see the spare tire sitting on top of the flat-four engine. But the…
Back door credentials The Trivy compromise dates to February, when TeamPCP exploited a misconfiguration in Trivy’s GitHub Actions environment, now identified as CVE-2026-33634, to establish a foothold via a privileged access token, according to Aqua Security. Discovering this, Aqua Security rotated credentials but, because some credentials remain valid during this process, the attackers were able to steal the newly rotated credentials. By manipulating trusted Trivy version tags, TeamPCP forced CI/CD pipelines using the tool to automatically pull down credential-stealing malware it had implanted. This allowed TeamPCP to target a variety of valuable information including AWS, GCP, Azure cloud credentials, Kubernetes…
A China-aligned threat actor has set its sights on European government and diplomatic organizations since mid-2025, following a two-year period of minimal targeting in the region. The campaign has been attributed to TA416, a cluster of activity that overlaps with DarkPeony, RedDelta, Red Lich, SmugX, UNC6384, and Vertigo Panda. “This TA416 activity included multiple waves of web bug and malware delivery campaigns against diplomatic missions to the European Union and NATO across a range of European countries,” Proofpoint researchers Mark Kelly and Georgi Mladenov said. “Throughout this period, TA416 regularly altered its infection chain, including abusing Cloudflare Turnstile challenge pages, abusing OAuth redirects, and using C#…
Customer journeys are collapsing into a single moment of evaluation. David Edelman recently described this shift as the convergence of behaviors that used to happen separately. As decisions compress, brands need to be clearer about what they are trying to solve for the customer. Many organizations are increasing activity instead, without sharpening the underlying strategy. The shift behind the compressed journey Edelman’s argument, outlined in his March 2026 Think with Google essay, is built around a shorthand developed by Boston Consulting Group and Google: streaming, scrolling, searching, and shopping. His central insight is that generative AI has snapped these four…
Android now supports a native terminal, and if you’ve ever been interested in doing more with your phone than what Android or apps allow, chances are you’ve looked into it. I expected to mess around with it for a short time, but didn’t expect it to be anywhere near as good as its desktop counterparts. On top of that, apps like Termux already exist, with thousands of packages and a fully functional terminal. But what Google has shipped isn’t just a flashy demo feature. It’s a full Debian virtual machine on your device using the Android Virtualization Framework (AVF), and…
Microsoft’s Secure Boot certificates, issued in 2011, are approaching expiration in 2026. To help IT administrators track whether devices have received replacement certificates, Microsoft has added new status indicators to the Windows Security app, under Device security > Secure Boot. Updated 2023 certificates are being delivered automatically through Windows Update to consumer devices and some business devices. The new app indicators show whether a given device has received those updates, what its current certificate state is, and whether any action is required. New indicators are off by default for managed devices On enterprise-managed Windows 10 and Windows 11 client devices,…
