If you’re someone who’s invested in Google’s ecosystem, there’s a pretty good chance you’re using Google Calendar to schedule meetings, calls, social events, and more. And for most people, it just works fine without any extra steps in order to keep things organized.

However, if you’re someone who’s a frequent traveler, you’ll know how messy things can get. This primarily happens when you’re moving in and out of time zones, but still need to set meetings for people in other regions.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about, time zones are something that Google Calendar can easily handle. When you move, Calendar will usually do a pretty good job of recognizing where you are, setting things up in the proper time zone for events.

But, you also have the option to set the time zone to a specific region, and while there are tons of options, Calendar currently makes you scroll through a massive list to find what you’re potentially looking for. It’s not the end of the world, but if you have dozens of time zones to manually assign, this process can get pretty tiring.

With that said, Google is now introducing a change that will allow you to search for or type in the location in order to expedite the process (via Android Authority). So, rather than searching through a large list, you can now just type in your location, where Google will promptly display it.

You can see an example of how this will look in the image above when the option is available to you. If you’re someone who moves around a lot, this new change is going to be a game-changer. And the good news is that it’s already started rolling out to certain users.

Those on Rapid Release domains should have started seeing this on March 12, 2026. However, it could take up to two weeks to see it fully rolled out. Those on Scheduled Release domains should start seeing it on April 5, 2026, with a full rollout expected to be complete over the course of a few days.
