Not everyone wants an iPad, but there aren’t many options for high-end Android tablets. Thankfully, Lenovo just revealed two tablets to help fix that problem: the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 and Legion Tab Gen 5.

The main options for premium Android tablets, at least in the United States, are down to just Samsung’s Galaxy Tab series and the Google Pixel Tablet. Lenovo is still carrying on, though, with models like the Lenovo Yoga Tab with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. At Mobile World Congress, the company revealed two new tablets with flagship-class hardware, perfect for everything from gaming to watching movies.

First is the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 tablet, which looks a lot like a Microsoft Surface tablet, but it’s running Android instead of Windows. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset—the same one found in the Nothing Phone 3 and OnePlus Turbo 6—with up to 512 GB of internal storage and 12 GB RAM. There’s also a microSD card slot for adding up to 2 TB of additional storage, which you won’t find on any iPad.

The main screen is a 13-inch 3.5K LCD panel, with a resolution of 3504 x 2190 and a 144 Hz refresh rate. That’s a laptop-sized screen, with a high refresh rate that will make animations and games look their best. Lenovo will make a Matte Edition with a “paper-like anti-glare matte” screen coating, but the regular edition has a typical tablet screen. The tablet measures 11.7 x 7.6 x 0.2 inches (296.48mm x 191.91mm x 6.20mm).

For the rest of the hardware, you get an 8MP front-facing camera, a 12MP rear camera, a 10,200 mAh battery, quad JBL-brand speakers with Dolby Atmos support, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port for charging and data (including display output) with 45W charging, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6. Lenovo will also sell a keyboard dock, folio case, and stylus for the tablet.

Lenovo’s other new tablet is the Legion Tab (8.8″, 5), which is built primarily for mobile gaming. It has a smaller 8.8-inch display, but it still has an impressive 3K resolution (3040 x 1904), a 165 Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 600 nits. The Legion Tab uses a higher-end Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is also in the Galaxy S26 and other recent flagship Android phones. There’s also 512 GB storage, up to 16 GB RAM, and a 9,000 mAh battery.

Both tablets are running Android, but we only have specific software details for the Idea Tab Pro right now. That model will ship with Android 16, with release updates until Android 18 and four years of security patches. That’s not the best software support in the world, especially when Google and Samsung’s devices have seven years of security updates.

The Idea Pad Pro Gen 2 will start at $419 when it arrives in July 2026. The Legion Tab (8.8″, 5) will be available in May 2026 for $849. They should be available at Lenovo’s online store and other retailers.
