Netflix’s 2026 slate is jam-packed with films and shows that will keep you entertained throughout the year. If you’re looking for an enticing update this month, Netflix has you covered with new movies spanning comedy, action, and drama.

Whether you’re looking for a light-hearted laugh or a high-paced plot packed with action sequences, these new films will satisfy all your streaming needs. Here are some films to keep an eye out for this February.

Tyler Perry‘s Joe’s College Road Trip

Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip is a chaotic yet hilarious road-trip comedy film about Joe, a gruff patriarch from Tyler Perry’s Madea universe, who takes his college-bound grandson on a cross-country trip, determined to teach him about the reality of life on the way. What starts as a simple set of campus visits quickly spirals into chaos as Joe tries to expose his sheltered grandson to the real world, and the two bond despite their humorous differences.

Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip begins streaming globally on February 13, 2026.

    State of Fear

Netflix is releasing a string of interesting foreign-language films and shows this year, with a notable one being State of Fear. This feature film is the first spin-off of the Netflix Brazil series Brotherhood. State of Fear follows the Brotherhood as it reaches a breaking point when its top leaders are transferred to maximum-security prisons, threatening group collapse.

The crisis deepens when Elisa, the teenage daughter of the gang’s founder, is kidnapped by corrupt police officers. As her aunt Cristina tries to save her, the Brotherhood retaliates by ordering a “State of Fear,” a wave of violent attacks on police and security forces that throws São Paulo into chaos.

State of Fear begins streaming globally on February 11, 2026.

    Firebreak

If you want to explore more foreign language films, there is a high-paced, psychological thriller that you can watch this month: a Netflix Original Spanish film, Firebreak.

Firebreak follows Mara, a grieving mother who travels with her daughter and brother-in-law’s family to a remote forest house, hoping to heal her wounds after her husband’s death. This getaway quickly turns into a nightmare when, following an argument, Mara’s daughter disappears into the woods without a trace.

As a wildfire erupts and spreads rapidly, authorities halt the search and order an evacuation. Refusing to abandon her child, Mara, along with the family, defies orders and searches the forest on her own. Their only ally is a local forest ranger. But as the danger grows, Mara realizes the fire may not be the only threat, because someone in their midst may be hiding the truth.

Firebreak begins streaming globally on February 20, 2026.

If you’re looking to kick back with a short and sweet comedy special, then Netflix has you covered this month. You can stream Taylor Tomlinson’s fourth stand-up special, Prodigal Daughter, in February. This time, Tomlinson returns to her roots, deconstructing faith, processing religious trauma, exploring sexuality, and confronting the fear of death.

Taylor Tomlinson: Prodigal Daughter begins streaming globally on February 24, 2026.

    Queen of Chess

One documentary you don’t want to miss out on this month is Queen of Chess. The sports documentary follows the true story of the 12-year-old Hungarian prodigy Judit Polgár, who battled all prejudices against her gender and age to emerge as the number one female chess player at 12, beating Bobby Fischer’s record as the youngest grandmaster of all time at 15.

Premiering at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, this doc also dives into Polgár’s personal journey with love and forging her own path while discovering what success truly meant for her.

Queen of Chess is now streaming on Netflix.
